Charity runner Simon, will do it not once - but six times in 2015 - for a great local cause.

Forty-three-year-old Simon Hanson, of Greetland, has already completed the Inverness Marathon, the Silverstone Half Marathon, the Overgate 10k Challenge and the London Marathon.

On Monday, Simon will run in the Bupa 10k in London to raise money for Overgate Hospice.

In September, Simon will culminate his challenge in the 13-mile Great North Run.

Simon said: “Several of my friends have had family members spend time at Overgate and I know that the care and support they provide is invaluable. I am in the armed forces and so fitness is important to me, but to be able to take these challenges on and raise money for a fantastic local cause at the same time makes crossing the finish lines that much more meaningful.”

Senior Fundraiser Faye Henderson said: “Simon is extremely determined and we are grateful to have the support of such a dedicated and proactive person.”
