Everyone knows that children love to chat but a six-year-old girl will be doing the complete opposite this weekend as she attempts to remain silent for three hours, in memory of her Grandmother.
Evie Tasker, a student at Wainstalls Junior & Infant School, along with her mother Steph Bray, 28, both of Boothtown, will take part in a sponsored silence on Sunday to raise money for Overgate Hospice.
The pair will only communicate by pen and paper.
Proud mum Steph said: “She is trying to do something every year for her Grandma’s anniversary.
“The sponsored silence will be a challenge because she is a good old chatterbox and for her, three hours will be a long time but she is a determined little girl so I know she will do it.”
Evie has already raised more than £120 but is hoping to raise around £250 for the charity ‘close to their heart.’
“Grandma was always had support from Overgate and tried to give back to them so we are just carrying it on,” added Steph.
