Shoppers will be hot-footing to Sowerby Bridge on Sunday for the town’s Totally Locally Summer Market.
More than 60 stalls will be packed around the town’s market from 10 am to 4 pm.
Family entertainment will feature throughout the day as shoppers browse around stalls with many selling hand-made crafts and a variety of local produce.
There will also be plenty of street food offerings including a hog roast and curry.
There will be jive dancing, a Pimms Bar and games for the children such as hook-a-duck - and plenty of ice creams.
The event is organised by the Sowerby Bridge Business Association to help promote the area.
Spokeswoman Andrea Mellor, who runs Deli Belge Delicatessen in the town, said hopefully many shopkeepers would open especially for the day to pick up on the expected increased trading opportunity.
“The market will help increase footfall during the day and bring people who normally would not go into Sowerby Bridge,” she said.
“Hopefully, they will walk around and like what they see and revisit.”
Totally Locally has its roots in Calderdale and has been promoting town centres nationwide.
It actively promotes local shopping so people can have a direct input into boosting jobs and the community in which they live.
If every adult in Calderdale spent just £5 per week extra in local shops and businesses, instead of going online or outside the area, it would mean a staggering extra £40 million a year would be retained in our local economy.
