Hipperholme Grammar School students enjoyed fun on the slopes as they took part in a three-day ski trip.
For the first time the annual winter break included both junior and senior pupils.
They enjoyed a week of skiing at the resort of Alpe D’Huez in France.
Head of PE Mark Hendr, said: “Our snowboarders and skiers made the fastest progress I have ever seen in my 15 years of ski trips.
“The snow boarders had clearly been practising on their X-box snow boarding games.
“By the end of the week the board group were certainly riding through the park with their own particular style.
“By the end of the week the elite group were all off piste and deep powder experts.
“The pupils enjoyed beautiful sunshine for three days but then Alpe D’Huez was hit by the worst blizzards since records began for three days after that, but the older pupils were not deterred in the slightest,” he said.
Skye Rigby-Crompton from Form 5, said: “We all enjoyed the trip to Alpe D’Huez. It was an amazing opportunity.”
