SNEAK thieves have stolen close to £700 from a charity shop.
The opportunists took the cash from the RSPCA store in Halifax Road, Ripponden, when volunteers were staffing it.
Manager Jo Scott said it was the equivalent of a week’s takings.
“They have just got no morals at all,” she said.
“It’s just absolutely disgusting. It takes us so long to make that money from the donations that people give us. It’s just not on.”
The money disappeared some time between November 12 and 19 and was reported to police on November 27.
It is believed volunteers had left a cash box out in the back room, where customers can try on clothes.
Jo said: “We have so many people coming in and they have said they didn’t see anyone acting suspiciously.
“We are just being extra vigilant now. Unfortunately customers will no longer be allowed to try on clothes so it has spoiled it for everybody.”
A police spokesman said enquiries into the incident were ongoing.
