Snow: Latest forecast and travel disruption update for Calderdale

A yellow warning for ice tonight has been issued by the Met Office and more snow could fall in Calderdale tonight.

The snow is being predicted to fall between around 6pm tonight and 3am tomorrow.

The warning for ice is for 6pm tonight until 9am tomorrow.

Temperatures will not reach above zero degrees celsius tonight and could fall to -4.

Meanwhile there are stil some bus services being hit by the weather. These are:

534 which is not serving Kell Lane

542 which is not operating Backhold Drive in Siddal

571 which is not operating around Coley and Whinney Hill

593 which is not operating to Old Town due to snow and parked cars.

Most main roads in Calderdale are reported to be clear.

Council chiefs said they have treated all roads on precautionary routes and all other roads have been gritted today.

Salt bins have also been filled and pavements cleared.

The is a partial suspension for waste collections today and a full supsension of recylcing collections.

A spokeswoman said teams were doing yesterday’s waste collections where it was safe to do so. She advised people to leave wheelie bins at collection points todya.

Anyone with disrupted home care or day care service because of the adverse weather should be contacted by their provider.
