A DEDICATED teacher had a special send-off last week from pupils and former staff members.

Kath Michalowski retired from Nothowram Primary School after working there for 36 years.

Members of staff wrote a song about the Year 2 teacher which was performed by pupils at her leaving assembly last week.

Former staff members also returned for the occasion.

Mrs Michalowski said: “I am going to miss the dedicated, supportive and kind staff who are absolutely amazing and the hard working children.

“It has been a joy to teach here for 36 years and I’ve made some life-long friends.”

Head teacher Daniel Lomas said: “Kath has been a fantastic member of staff.

“The thing that makes her special is that the children are at the heart of everything she does. She has always been completely committed to our school and is always bright and breezy and smiling.”
