A girl from Halifax is on an Easter egg hunt to raise money for a West Yorkshire hospice.

Sophie Doherty, 14, is working towards a bronze Duke of Edinburgh award and is hoping her volunteer work in aid of Martin House hospice in Wetherby will help her.

The Hipperholme Grammar student said: “Instead of just working in a charity shop I wanted to do something special for a very worthy charity.
“As well as the support of my school, I’m hoping the community will donate some eggs as well and I’ll be taking them all to the hospice myself.”
