Organisers of this weekend’s Rushbearing Festival in Sowerby Bridge are hoping the spectacle will escape the worst of the showers.
The focal point is the 16ft high thatched rushcart which tours the town and surrounding villages accompanied by music and dance.
Additional attractions coincide with the festival.
A full schedule is in place but timings might vary slightly.
Tonight, at 8 pm there is the pre-Rushbearing get-together at the Puzzle Hall Inn, Sowerby Bridge.
Saturday: 10 am to 4 pm, Wharf Street, charity/craft market with Friendly Band playing at 2 pm.
10 am to 5 pm, Christ Church, charity Stalls; 12.45 pm to 1.25 pm, St Patrick’s Church, Bolton Brow, brass band; 1.45 pm to 2.05 pm, The Shepherd’s Rest, Bolton Brow, Morris Dancing; 2 pm to 6.30 pm, St Paul’s Church, Tower Hill, Horticultural Show; 4.30 pm to 4.50 pm, Puzzle Hall Inn, Hollins Mill Lane, Morris Dancing & Mummers.

The Rushcart procession arrives on Saturday, 10.15 am at St John’s Church with schedule arrivals at Warley Village (11.15 am), The White Horse Inn (11.55 am), The Waiter’s Arms (12.40 pm), St Patrick’s Church (1.30 pm), The Naviation Inn (2.30 pm), Village Restaurant (3.15 pm), Christ Church/Market Place (3.50 pm), St Paul’s Church (4.25 pm), The Works (4.55 pm), The Canal Basin (5.50 pm).
