Sowerby Bridge Rushbearing sets off

This year’s Sowerby Bridge Rushbearing Festival got underway this morning (Sat).

The Rushcart procession started in Warley and is scheduled to visit The White Horse Inn (11.55 am), The Waiter’s Arms (12.40 pm), St Patrick’s Church (1.30 pm), The Naviation Inn (2.30 pm), Village Restaurant (3.15 pm), Christ Church/Market Place (3.50 pm), St Paul’s Church (4.25 pm), The Works (4.55 pm), The Canal Basin (5.50 pm).

The Sunday timetable is: St Peter’s Church (10.30 am), Rushcart Inn (11.55 am), St Mary’s Church (1.15 pm, The Alma Inn (1.50 pm), Saw Hill (2.40 pm), Triangle Cricket Club (3.10 pm) and St Bartholomew’s Church, (4.50 pm).

Additional attractions today: 10 am to 4 pm, Wharf Street, charity/craft market with Friendly Band playing at 2 pm.

10 am to 5 pm, Christ Church, charity Stalls; 12.45 pm to 1.25 pm, St Patrick’s Church, Bolton Brow, brass band; 1.45 pm to 2.05 pm, The Shepherd’s Rest, Bolton Brow, Morris Dancing; 2 pm to 6.30 pm, St Paul’s Church, Tower Hill, Horticultural Show; 4.30 pm to 4.50 pm, Puzzle Hall Inn, Hollins Mill Lane, Morris Dancing & Mummers.

Refreshments: 10 am to 5 pm, Christ Church; noon to 2.20 pm, St Patrick’s Church; 10.30 pm to 4.50 pm, St Paul’s Church.
