A memorial service is being held for families whose loved ones have passed away in the intensive care units (ICU) at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.
The bereavement service will take place at 2pm on Sunday in St Paul’s Hall, next to Huddersfield University.
It will include readings and lighting candles in a patient’s memory, as well as songs from the Colne Valley Male Voice Choir group.
Staff nurse, Caroline Winkley, from ICU, said: “The aim of this service is to bring families together to remember their loved ones and to celebrate their lives.”
Chaplain of the choir, John Radcliffe said the service was well appreciated by families who have lost loved ones.
“This is an extremely important service for people and, from previous ones we have held, we know they mean a lot to people. I was a patient at the ICU and was saved by the caring staff there,” he said.
