THE latest facelift for Hebden Bridge town centre is well underway.
These pictures show the work taking place to build Hebden Bridge’s Creative Quarter.
It is part of the regeneration of the town hall which was taken over by community ownership in April 2010.
The £3.2 million development is rapidly taking shape and is expected to open in June.
The first floor planks are the latest addition to the building and the structural topping has been poured.
Trustees say they want it to be welcoming and lively. It has been designed to meet the needs of small businesses in the creative, media and digital sectors.
It will house around 30 small businesses as well as conferences and space for people who want somewhere to meet.
Around 50 per cent of the units available to businesses have already been filled.
The Hebden Bridge Community Association is looking for a franchise operator to run the courtyard cafe, which will be open to the public seven days a week, and to provide the in-house catering for conferences and functions held in the new Waterfront Hall and the other new public rooms.
The new town hall will include a cafe which Executive Director Sarah Lister-Blow says will be a key part of the success of their project.
“Good quality food at reasonable prices both for our cafe customers and for groups and businesses holding functions in the building will be a key factor in the success of the Town Hall,” she said.
