Stainland Road is currently closed after a double-decker got stuck under a railway bridge this afternoon (Tuesday).
The incident happened at around 3.30pm.
Substantial damage was caused to the top deck of the bus, with some debris left on the bridge and on the road.
A structural engineer was called to the scene to assess the bridge following the incident.
A police spokesperson confirmed there were no injuries and it’s not thought any passengers were on the bus at the time.
The road is currently closed through to West Vale.
