Among those to perform was Southowram ventriloquist Gareth Oliver, who shot to stardom with his performances on Britain’s Got Talent in 2009.

Ben Kergon, Matthew Hayes, Paige Clayton and Jess Whelan all gave solo singing performances, with Ryburn’s Soul Band and Dance Academy both starring too.

Richard Clarke, Deputy Head at Ryburn, said: “It was a fantastic evening for a wonderful cause. The students from Ryburn performed superbly and this was topped off by the hilarious antics of Gareth Oliver. The crowd certainly got value for money.”

Shaffa needs to raise a total of £2,000 for the equipment which will help her prepare for spinal surgery.
