Olympic medallist Colin Jackson and West Yorkshire TV presenter Nell McAndrew are challenging Halifax schools to take part in the UK’s biggest fun run.
Five schools in Calderdale have already signed up to take part in the Tesco Great School Run since registration opened last month.
Holywell Green Primary School; Tuel Lane Infant School, Sowerby Bridge; Siddal Primary School, Copley Primary School and St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, all Halifax, will all be joining in.
The two-kilometre run - now in its seventh year - encourages children and their parents to get fit through exercise and healthy eating.
Nell said: “This year, we’re expecting more that one million children to take part and I wouldn’t want Halifax to miss out, so I’m calling on teachers to sign up their schools straight away.”
Participating schools organise their own fun runs between May 9 and July 22.
