AN all-star comedy line-up will perform in Halifax tomorrow to raise cash for charity.

Jason Manford, Justin Moorhouse, Steve Shanyaski and Mick Ferry will provide the laughs at a special gig in aid of the Calderdale Parents’ and Carers’ Council.

Comedy fan and the charity’s project manager Karen Bull approached Mick Ferry, a comedian from Oldham, on Facebook.

He writes for many top comedians and raided his contacts book to pull in some big names for the charity gig at The Square Chapel, tomorrow at 8pm.

Karen said: “Mick really came through for us. We’re so overwhelmed by what he’s done for us and the names he has got. It’s so exciting.”

Charity bosses are particularly pleased at the high-profile gig as this is the first year the charity has needed to fund-raise because of the economic crisis.

It is now heavily reliant on fund-raising and all proceeds from tomorrow will support its work in helping parents and carers in Calderdale, through activities such as family events, information sessions, consultations with families to shape services’ future and a volunteer befriending scheme.

Just a few tickets are remaining for the comedy gig. Tickets cost £15 and are available from The Square Chapel box office on 01422 349422.
