THREE residential streets have been sealed off after a shed containing cylinders of explosive gas caught fire today.
Police sealed off the roads around Charles Avenue, Southowram, at 12.15pm after the garden shed caught alight.
60 people are being evacuated from the area.
Firefighters will remain on the scene for 24 hours waiting for the cylinders to cool.
Now a Calderdale Council emergency planning team is in the process of moving households containing 60 people to temporary accommodation for the night.
A Calderdale Council spokesman said: "We are finding temporary accommodation for these people.
"It is a very explosive gas."
Charles Avenue, Cain Lane and part of Towngate have all been sealed off.
