UNIVERSITY students have been putting their thinking caps on to plot ideas for how the future of Todmorden could look.
Post-graduate town planning students at Leeds Metropolitan University visited the town to research and hear residents’ thoughts and aspirations for Todmorden.
They have spent the last few weeks coming up with ideas for how the town could look in 20 years’ time, including improvements to the train station and more affordable housing and employment opportunities.
Dr Lindsay Smales, course leader, said: “These plans aim to stimulate discussion as to how the town can address the wide range of issues it faces and make the most of its enormous potential.”
Copies of the students’ work will be available to read at Todmorden Library shortly.
