Suspected arson attack in Holmfirth

Police are appealing for information following a suspected arson attack on a mill in Holmfirth.

The Valleys Neighbourhood Policing Team would like to speak to anyone who has information about the incident at the Hinchliffe Mills which took place on Saturday, June 22.

It occurred at around 6.45pm after a suspect broke into the derelict building, caused damage and is then believed to have started a fire on the second floor.

Police and firefighters are investigating the cause of the blaze and officers are encouraging residents to stay away from the property.

Neighbourhood policing team officers are particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw a teenage man running away from the mill at the time of the fire.

He is described as white, 13 to 15-years old, of a chubby build with short mousey brown hair.
