A young swimmer from Hipperholme Grammar School caused a splash when he won four awards at the Yorkshire swimming championships.

Year 7 pupil Myles Stirk, 12, picked up four gold medals in 100m freestyle, 100m backstroke, 200m individual medley and 200m freestyle at the Aquatics Centre at the John Charles Centre for Sport in Leeds. The swim sensation trains six times a week, but still keeps on top of his school work.

Head of Physical Education at the Grammar School, Mr Mark Hendry said: “We are very proud of Myles fantastic achievement.”
