Family and friends gathered to celebrate with a remarkable Todmorden woman as she received her fifth telegram from the Queen.
A tea party was held at Millreed Lodge, Walsden, to mark the occasion on Sunday, May 26, as Mabel Fielden reached 108 not out.
Mabel, one of the oldest living people in the UK, said it was a lovely day.
“It was nice to have everybody together,” she said.
“I’m very thankful.”
Mabel, who has lived through the reigns of five different monarchs, still has several hobbies.
She enjoys crochet and regularly takes part in arts and crafts activities at Millreed Lodge.
“I feel well. I’m top notch,” she said.
“I’ve not done too bad really. It’s just good healthy living.”
