CHILDREN learnt the bear necessities of looking after their teddies.

Eureka hosted a week of adventures, stories and songs as intrepid explorers packed their bears to go on a bear hunt.

The Teddy Bear Surgery was open every day to make sure that each of their soft toy visitors was in peak playing performance. Children checked their teddy’s temperature, reflexes and blood pressure, took their teddy’s height and weight, to make sure their bears were in tip-top condition and ready for playtime.

Once they were fixed and ready, the brave adventurers tried to catch a big one as they went on an outdoor adventure, winding their way through the museum grounds.

Families also got involved in the fun and followed a teddy trial at the Halifax museum, hunting stray bears along their route.

The sessions run until Sunday and a teddy bears’ picnic will take place this weekend.
