Teenager hurt in Huddersfield attack

Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was assaulted in Huddersfield town centre by a group of youths last Thursday afternoon.

At around 2.45 pm, the 17-year-old victim was confronted by a group of youths on Kirkgate near the McDonalds restaurant.

During the altercation he suffered a non-life threatening wound to his back and it is believed he may have been stabbed.

The victim ran off towards St Peter’s Street, Huddersfield.

The group chased him briefly but the victim was able to get away.

It is believed there were at least three youths involved of Afro Caribbean appearance wearing light coloured clothing.
