POLICE are appealing for information after a 17-year-old man was the victim of a violent mugging in Bradford.
The victim was on Cecil Avenue at its junction with Frank Street on his way home from the gym when he was approached by four men who demanded he hand over cash.
After he handed over his wallet - containing £20 - the men forced the teenager to the floor and kicked him.
All the suspects are described as black, around 6ft 2ins tall and wearing dark clothing. They escaped into Horton Park.
Detective Constable Jane Hebden, of Bradford South CID, said:“For the sake of £20, these men used unnecessary violence on a lone teenager, who was simply making his way home after visiting the gym.
“Thankfully he was not seriously injured, receiving cuts and bruising. He was, however; understandably shaken by this incident.
“This will not be tolerated in any shape or form in Bradford and we need to quickly locate these men who clearly have no care or consideration for other people and their property.
“Officers have already undertaken a number of inquiries, however it is vital that we have all the information possible to find those responsible.
“If you saw this incident occur or have any information that can help us trace those responsible, please contact 101 or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555111.”
