Ten arrested after firearm shot in Bradford

Ten men have been arrested after an incident in Bradford in which a firearm was discharged.

At 2.42pm yesterday (Tuesday) police were called to Upper Rushton Road in the Thornbury area of Bradford following reports of a road-rage type incident in which a number of men were believed to be fighting.

Witnesses at the scene reported seeing a man carrying what is believed to have been a firearm and subsequent forensic examination of the area confirmed that a firearm had been discharged.

A short time later firearms officers stopped a silver coloured VW Passat vehicle on Upper Mosscar Street, Thornbury and arrested the five male occupants aged: 23, 25, 24, 26 and 27.

Four other men aged: 20, 25, 26, 28 have also been arrested in connection with the incident after the Audi vehicle they were travelling in was followed by police to a property on Moorland Road, Pudsey.

A further man, aged 19, was arrested overnight from an address in Eccleshill. All ten remain in police custody

At this stage there are not believed to be any injured parties and officers are treating the incident as a targeted attack.

High visibility patrols have been increased in the areas providing reassurance to local residents.
