Memories and the history of Brighouse Children’s Theatre have been brought together in a new book by former members.

The society began in 1947 by Gerald Tyler with the aim of encouraging and fostering an interest in drama and the arts for young people.

Plays were presented for young audiences from that time until the 1980’s before the group disbanded in 2004.

Ex members of BCT have been compiled the book, outlining the story of the group, using members’ memories of the their experiences and filled with illustrations and cuttings.

An offical book launch and social event was held for the public at the Cock O’ the North brewery off Halifax Road, Hipperholme.

People can buy the book, priced £8.50, by emailing brighousechildrenstheatre@mail.com or calling John Warren on 07863119864.
