SANDWICH shop owners have been left reeling after a break-in by thieves who dropped in through the roof.
The culprits climbed 20ft down from the roof of The Bank on Trinity Road in Halifax town centre and ransacked the shop.
Anne Paszko, who owns the store with her son, estimates the raid will cost them thousands.
“I’m devastated,” she said.
“They’ve made such a mess.”
The thieves stole cash from the till and caused a catalogue of damage.
The shop was unable to open yesterday because of the scale of the damage caused but Mrs Paszko hoped to be open again on Monday.
Mrs Paszko, who runs the shop, bought the store with her son in August 2010
The break-in is believed to have happened between 3pm on Thursday and 7.15am yesterday.
