THIEVES have struck at a community display for the third time in recent months.

The brass pot, pictured right, was snatched from the Inglenook feature at the entrance to Old Mill Grove, Halifax.

It had been donated to Old Mill Grove Gardening Club by friends at Trimmingham Villas.

Members say they are fed up of items being stolen from the display, which they created for Yorkshire in Bloom.

A mug was taken earlier this month and four brass ornaments, including a teapot and a bowl, vanished in September.

Hayley Taylor, who is secretary of the group, said: “Whoever these light-fingered individuals are we wish they would leave the feature alone.

“It is apparent they are not interested in the community working together and trying to make the area a better place for all.”

She is urging scrap merchants and anyone visiting car boot sales to watch out for the pot, which is inscribed with the club’s name.

“It is not worth anything to anyone else, just like the mug stolen previously,” she said.
