A MUCH improved play area has been created off Conway Street, Halifax, designed by local children.
Youngsters from Parkinson Lane School joined Calderdale Council’s play rangers for the opening event and tested the new equipment.
The upgrade was paid for with money from the Government’s “Playbuilder” fund.
The Conway Street Residents Association, supported by Halifax Central Initiative, is now looking at opportunities to improve the play area for younger children.
Councillor Mohammed Ilyas, (Lib-Dem, Park) said: “It is great to see a new improved play area and I am sure all the children and young people will benefit from it.”
Councillor Ferman Ali (Lab, Park) said: “This newly refurbished area will encourage children to come and play together in an area they have helped to design.”
Playgrounds manager Mick Wilby said the children who have been very patient and supportive during the construction phase.”
