DETECTIVES investigating an attack on a grandma as she went Christmas shopping have arrested three youths.

The trio were being questioned yesterday about the attempted mugging of the 74-year-old woman in Gibbet Street in Halifax.

All three are understood to be from Halifax.

Police say they still want anyone who saw the attack at 10am on Monday or has information that could help their investigation to call them on 01422 337085.

The woman, who recently suffered a heart attack, had been to post her Christmas cards and was on her way to buy gifts for her grandchildren when a youth tried to grab her purse, pulled her over and left her sprawled in the middle of the road. She suffered a broken arm and bruising.
