A Halifax company director is celebrating 25 years in the construction industry by taking part in the energy-sapping Three Peaks Challenge for charity.
Paul Moore, from housing specialists Southdale, whose head offices are in Westholme Road, is joining 18 other staff in the endurance event.
He is attempting to halve their target time of 12 hours by completing the 24 mile course in just six, spurred on by the thought of raising money for Cancer Research UK.
“I wanted to support what the team were doing, but I decided to really push myself”, he said. “While it is very challenging, it is for a hugely worthwhile cause.”
Runners climb a total of 2142 metres during the course, conquering the classic Yorkshire peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.
Paul is excited by the challenge, one of many during the company’s milestone year.
He said: “In our 25th anniversary year we are all looking for ways to support charities and communities, and while this will be me playing my part in that, it will also be a fantastic personal experience.”
