Todmorden Market traders were getting ready to welcome visitors to the big screen set up by Tour De Tod to enable people to watch stage two of the Tour De France, which comes through Calderdale today, Sunday, July 6.
By mid-day the Tour’s advance caravan should be in the area, followed by the riders themselves a while later.
It will go through part of Hebden Bridge and into Mytholmroyd before riders head up Cragg Vale on the longest continuous climb in England.
At Todmorden, the traders were setting up by around 8.30am ready for the influx of visitors later in the day.
One of them, Andrew Hartley, said he hoped people would come down and enjoy a day out for a unique occasion.
Tests on the big screen had also been carried out ready for later today, when it will screen stage two, followed by, at around 5pm, the Disney family film Frozen.
