Hotels in Yorkshire are already being booked up for the 2014 Tour de France Grand Depart as cycling enthusiasts ensure they don’t miss out on the action.

There has already been a hige booking spike for hotels in Harrogate of up 30 per cent on the same weekend in 2013. Leeds too has seen the benefits of the tour – bookings there are up 17 per cent on the same weekend in 2013.

“With UK cycling success sky high at the moment, it’s no wonder Tour de France fans are booking so far in advance for Yorkshire 2014,” said Lynda Matthews, LateRooms.com’s Head of Marketing.

“We are really excited to be able to offer lots of hotel availability for the areas this international event is passing through, and pleased that our customers are taking advantage of the fact they can book up to a year in advance.”

The Tour will pedal through Calderdale on Sunday, July 6 next year.
