Police sealed off the area around Wainhouse Tower in Halifax yesterday to investigate an allegation of an attack on a young woman.

Detectives were called to the landmark’s grounds at around 8.30am.

They had received a report that a 28-year-old woman had been assaulted.

Entrances to the area were taped off and officers stood on guard for several hours. They say investigations are underway.
