Town's Quinn aiming for far better
DEFENDER Adam Quinn is ready to move on as Town wait to discover their fate at tomorrow's meeting of creditors.
The meeting will go a long way to deciding what the future holds for the Shaymen as they bid to emerge from administration.
And Quinn, one of the first signings made by boss Chris Wilder when he took over the club in similar circumstances almost six years ago, is already aiming high.
"Hopefully things can move forward next season," said the experienced central defender.
"Add the 10 points we had taken away to our total from this season and we are aiming higher up the table.
"We have had some good times during my time here like the play-off final.
"And that is where we have to be aiming again."
Quinn, one of the players under contract for next season, has made almost 200 league appearances for Town since arriving from Sheffield Wednesday in the summer of 2002.
But he could not recall a worse afternoon than the final day of the campaign when the Shaymen secured their Blue Square Premier future despite a 2-1 defeat at home to Stevenage Borough
"It was a horrible day and a situation you never want to be in," said Quinn. "If anything it was more intense than the previous year at the end because we did not get the result we wanted.
"We had it in our own hands before the game started but the lads were all down after the final whistle.
"Then we got the score from Weymouth through and got the break we had been hoping for a while.
"We were sitting in silence in the changing room, just waiting and then we heard the cheer outside which told us we had survived."
Cambridge United and Burton Albion will start the second leg of their play-off semi-final tonight all square at 2-2.
