A group is holding a meeting to gain support for its campaign to get a train station in Elland. The Halifax and District Rail Action Group (HADRAG) holds its annual general meeting on May 11.
Local people are invited to ehar from campaigners and experts on the campaign and join the discussion on why the town should have a station and how to make it happen.
HADRAG claims that Elland is “arguably the biggest distinct town in Yorkshire without trains” and said a location close to the Lowfields Business Park would be most suitable.
Speakers include Calderdale councillor Barry Collins, cabinet member for economy and environment, along with Andrew Haley, client and stakeholder manager at Northern Rail, and Michael Sasse from Metro’s rail team.
The meeting starts at 10.15am (doors open 9.45am) at The Fleece Inn, Jepson Lane, Elland.
