Cold and breezy start to the day: Morning traffic and weather round up

A rather cold start with a brisk northeasterly wind today (Thursday).

Some sunny spells are also likely however, especially during the afternoon. Temperatures will reach a maximum of six degrees celsius.

Friday will be a similar story although temperatures are expected to drop on Saturday.

Traffic is now moving on the M62 westbound between junction 23 at Huddersfield and junction 22 at Rishworth Moor following an accident.

The entry slip road on the eastbound carriageway of the M62 at junction 26 Chain Bar is blocked because of a broken down lorry.

The A58 Wharf Street in Sowerby Bridge is busy but moving in both directions at the A6139 Tuel Lane junction.

The A58 Aachen Way in Halifax is busy but moving at the Queen’s Road junction.

Traffic is moving slowly on the A58 Leeds Road in both directions in Hipperholme between The Avenue junction and the A58 Halifax Road junction.

There is heavy traffic on the A629 Calderdale Way in both directions in Elland at the A6025 Halifax Road junction.

Traffic is moving slowly on the A629 Cow Green in both directions in Halifax at the Bull Green junction.

It is also moving slowly on the A644 Wakefield Road eastbound between Brighouse and the A62 Cooper Bridge Road junction.
