Cold and windy day forecast: morning traffic and weather round up

A cold day with strong winds is forecast for today.

There will be outbreaks of sunshine later today with temperatures expected to reach ten degrees celsius.

A dry night is in store but staying quite windy with speeds expected to reach 33mph later tonight.

It will feel cold again on Friday with rain forecast in the morning. It will become dry as the day progresses.

Rain is also forecast throughout the weekend but temperatures will reach 12 degrees.

Motorists are still facing delays between Brierley and Friendly due to temporary traffic lights and along the A649 Wakefield Road where there is three-way temporary lights near to Stoney Lane at Lightcliffe.

There is slow traffic on the A58 Leeds Road westbound in Hipperholme between the Upper Sutherland Road junction and the A58 Halifax Road junction.

There is traffic congestion on the A58 Leeds Road westbound in Stump Cross between the A6036 Bradford Road junction and the A647 Haley Hill junction.

The A58 Wharf Street in Sowerby Bridge is busy but moving in both directions at the A6139 Tuel Lane junction,

The A58 Aachen Way in Halifax is busy but moving at the Queen’s Road junction.

There is slow traffic on the A629 Calderdale Way in both directions in Elland at the A6025 Halifax Road junction.

There is heavy traffic on the A641 Huddersfield Road outbound in Brighouse at the Bethel Street junction.

There is traffic congestion on the A644 Wakefield Road eastbound between Brighouse and the A62 Cooper Bridge Road junction.
