Two crashes in just six minutes

Fire services had to cut passengers out of two cars after two separate incidents in the space of just six minutes.

Fire crews from Halifax and Illingworth were called to a road traffic collision at the junction of Pellon New Road and Spring Hall Lane at 1.34am on Saturday morning.

Fire fighters had to cut a female passenger from the rear of a Peugeot which had been in a collision with a Rover 200.

She was taken to Calderdale Royal Hospital after being lifted from the car by paramedics.

Six minutes later, a Vauxhall Corsa crashed into a lamp post on Leeds Road, Stump Cross Halifax.

The female driver had to be cut from the car by firefighters who cut the roof of the vehicle.

The driver was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

Crews from Brighouse and Odsal attended.
