Tonight, is the official ‘lighting up’ of the Tree of Lights campaign.

At 6pm, (November 14) the lights on The Village restaurant car park ash tree will be illuminated to mark the ‘turning on’ of the Sowerby Bridge Rotary campaign to install a public life saving defibrillator machine in the town centre.

Special guests include a undisclosed Halifax RLFC player, mascot Halicat and ex-player and campaign supporter Tony Tonks.

Crowds will be entertained with music from local band Imperial Crusaders and a folk singer.

Rotarians say they hope it will be a good turn out and people will ‘buy a light’ for a loved one and support the campaign.

Donation forms can be collected from town centre businesses: Deli Belge; Village Restaurant and Trinkette Gift Shop.
