Three Elland establishments have been awarded top marks in the latest council hygiene assessment.
La Cachette, Little Earth Nursery and Out of School Club and Willows Bistro all picked up five stars in the scores on the doors ranking.
They were among 13 other premises that Calderdale Council’s environmental health officials awarded five star ratings.
Jonathan Nichols of La Cachette congratulated his kitchen team for their contribution to the award.
“We have been hovering on the borderline of four and five stars, but have always strived to achieve the five star rating.”
Co-owner of Willows Bistro, Sarah Young, said: “Last year we achieved four stars so we are obviously thrilled to be awarded five stars this year.
“Me and my husband run the independent living complex, so we are really pleased to have achieved five star rating for the first time.”
Debra Morton, deputy manager of the Little Earth Nursery and Out of School Club, said: “We were awarded five stars last time and we’re really pleased to have been awarded it again.”
“We can have as many as 64 children here at one time so it can get very busy and all the staff have done a great job to keep the standards up.”
On the other end of the scale, it was bad news for Robinwood Activity Centre in Todmorden, which failed to achieve any star rating. It was also disappointing for Maypole Inn, Warley, which only picked up one star , while Old White Beare, Norwood Green and Djs Cafe, Halifax only achieved two stars.
