A concrete supplier is back in business following the theft of a company truck from a unit in West Vale.

Hi-Spec Concrete based in Lockwood, Huddersfield, had its 42 ton volumetric concrete mixing truck stolen along with other items. It is thought the items stolen were valued at more than £100,000.

Managing director John Quinn said he was shocked and saddened by the theft as it had placed a major burden on the business.

“I was shocked to receive the news but also pleased that no employees were around as we work around the clock at times. It was clear that this was a skilled theft especially with the size of the trucks. It is shocking and scary to think that you are being watched. I’m just trying to run a business, keep people employed and I hope they get caught and brought to justice as the damage they do to businesses is just sickening.”

Although this initially set the company back, John’s strong concrete business network has soon got them back into business following partnership with an external company based in Buckinghamshire.

With the quick loan of a volumetric truck the company is now fully operational, supplying its wide customer base with quality controlled batched on site concrete.

Hi-Spec Concrete is now taking full bookings for deliveries.
