A CRACK team of TV pet detectives has been called in to search for a missing cat in Sowerby Bridge.

Animal Search UK, which featured in recent Channel 4 Cutting Edge documentary The Pet Detectives, has been scouring the area with rescue traps, torches and police-style patrol vehicles in the hunt for Vincent the ginger moggy.

Owner Rhona Davidson enlisted the team’s help after her pet disappeared from her home on Boxing Day.

Former police officer Tom Watkins, who heads up the search squad, said: “Most missing pets are found within a few miles of home – the challenge faced by owners, is making sure that as many people as possible know that their pet has gone missing, and encouraging them to be vigilant.

“Unfortunately, work and family commitments often mean owners don’t have as much time as they’d like to devote to scouring the area.”

He added: “Vincent’s owner is missing him terribly and we’d urge anyone with information to come forward.

“Rhona is becoming increasingly concerned as more time passes.

“It is very unusual for him to stray far from home and, given his shy nature, he is unlikely to approach people.

“If you see him please do not try to catch him but instead, call us immediately.”

Anyone who finds Vincent or has information about his whereabouts should call 0800 4 320 340 and quote case reference number 47090.
