Two gang attacks in one night

DETECTIVES are investigating two gang attacks in Halifax on the same night.

A 30-year-old man was approached by eight Asian men in Horton Street at 10.15pm on Thursday.

They demanded he hand over his mobile. When he refused, the gang – aged between 15 and 20 – assaulted him, injuring his face.

At 10.20pm, a 43-year-old man was attacked by a group of Asian men in Savile Park Road. Again, he suffered face injuries.

Anyone with information about either assault is asked get in touch.

Police are also appealing for witnesses after an assault was reported outside a Halifax school.

A 28-year-old woman was allegedly attacked during an altercation outside Warley Road School.

She suffered minor injuries to her face.

A 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault. He has been released on bail pending further inquires.

Police say there were a number of people at the school collecting children at the time.
