All three lanes have been re-opened on the M62 westbound but there are severe delays after a collision between two lorries and a car at around noon today (Wednesday).
The incident occurred about a third of a mile before junction 25, going westbound towards junction 26 and caused an oil spillage onto the carriageway.
There don’t appear to be any serious injuries, but there are currently delays of more than two hours with congestion to J28, A650 (Tingley), with queues reportedly stretching for seven miles.
There is also queueing traffic on the A62 Leeds Road westbound between A638 Bradford Road and A644 Wakefield Road and on the M621 to J1, A6110 (Beeston) due to traffic diverting from the delays.
The accident comes less than 24 hours after a crash caused huge delays on the motorway.
