Roadworks will continue throughout the evening and into the morning rush hour as work continues on a burst water main.
The burst water main on Burnley Road has been causing problems since about 7am this morning.
A Yorkshire Water spokesman apologised to road users affected by the burst and said work continued to get everything back to normal.
The burst occurred at 7am and we stopped the leak shortly afterwards,” he said.
“We’re working hard to repair the road and get everything back to normal.
“We have to give time for the road repairs to set before we can remove roadworks and we are hopeful this will happen on Thursday morning.”
The burst water main was also followed by a three-vehicle shunt at about 7.30am this morning.
