Updated: Firefighters battle blaze for five hours

Firefighters spent five hours battling a blaze at Paddock Saddlery in Halifax.

Crews from Halifax, Illingworth and Elland were sent out to the fire which started at around 6.15pm last night (Saturday).

The bottom floor of the two-storey derelict building in Paddock Lane, Norton Tower, was half involved in fire when the crews arrived.

Three appliances, two from Halifax and one from Odsal, were at the scene until 11pm.

Four breathing apparatus, one hose reel and two large jets were used.

The building was unoccupied.
