MILLIONS of NatWest and Royal Bank of Scotland customers continue to be affected by technical glitches at the banks.
Since Wednesday, customers have reported balances not being updated and being unable to use some online services.
The banking group has apologised to customers and said it is working hard to fix them.
A statement on the NatWest’s website yesterday afternoon (Thursday) said account balance information had now been fixed. But this morning they admit there are still problems.
The statment, posted at 7.10am on their website, reads: “Unfortunately we are once again experiencing technical issues with our systems and account balances have not updated properly overnight. This means where money has gone into a customers account, there may be a delay in it appearing on their balance.
“We can assure our customers that this problem is strictly of a technical nature and we continue to work hard to resolve this.
“We also recognise this is an unacceptable inconvenience for our customers, for which we apologise.
“Staff in our branches and at our call centres are ready and available to answer any questions and help where they can.”
Thousands of branches in major towns and cities stayed open late last night and opened early this morning, to help customers.
