Updated: Road closed after two-car crash in Lightcliffe - four people taken to hospital

Four people have been taken to hospital after a two-car crash in Lightcliffe this morning.

The accident happened on Wakefield Road between St Giles Road and Lydgate Park at 8.18am.

A Ford Focus and a Peugeot 107 collided head-on.

A woman in the Focus is thought to have suffered a suspected serious injuries. while a man in the same car, a woman in the Peugeot and a boy in the Peugeot suffered minor injuries.

Wakefield Road, Lightcliffe, was closed between Hipperholme and Bailiff Bridge while police dealt with the accident.

Buses were being re-directed.
