ONE of Calderdale’s businest roads had to be shut this morning because of a shed fire.
Four fire crews from Brighouse, Halifax, Elland and Odsal were called to the blaze off the A58 Whitehall Road in Norwood Green at 10.17am.
The teams had to move potentially explosive acetylene cannisters along away from the flames and cool them down. The shed was burnt down by the fire which also spread to some of the nearby wooden pallets.
Emergency services opened the road, which had been shut between Wyke crossroads and Syke Lane, at around 12.30pm. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
